Materials: Video about Van Gogh, an instructional video, 9X12 white paper, pencil, tempera paint, ruler and oil pastels.
Objective: Learn about Van Gogh, draw a picture of a sunflower. Procedure: With a pencil draw a line three inches from the bottom of the paper. Draw a vase, sign it then draw one circle to represent a sunflower and then add four more behind, above and beside the first. Draw a smaller circle in the center of each circle and then radiating lines. Use the lines to create the petals. Be sure not to overlap lines for flowers that are behind each other. Erase unwanted lines and then use a black sharpie to outline all the lines you want to keep. Apply oil pastels in layers to blend colors and finally apply paint to the background and the table.
